Christmas Dance Dresses

Thursday, December 19

Last night my brother went off to his sixth year dance and this got me thinking about my six christmas dance dresses. Unlike prom the christmas dance is a ceilidh and all the girls wear nice dresses and the boys are in kilts. It is quite a big thing! I wish I had an excuse to wear dresses like this all the time.

Dress: T.K Maxx (Can't remember the brand) Shoes: Newlook
First Year (age 12) I bought this dress months before the dance because it was so pretty I couldn't risk missing it. I felt like it was the most beautiful dress I'd ever worn and mum took it off me because I put it on every second day to dance around my room. It was the first time mum let me wear a little mascara, concealer and eye shadow out (a huge moment in a girls life).

Dress: Boohoo.com Shoes: Newlook
Second Year (age 13) This dress was bought slightly last minute because I couldn't find one I really liked. I will admit that these photos are taken on christmas day when I re wore the outfit (hair and all) for lunch because I was so late I didn't take any before I left.

Dress: Handmade (Simplicity pattern no. 3878) Shoes: Newlook
Third Year (age 14) This was the first handmade dress my mum ever made for me and wow! I made me feel like a princess and looking back I feel like a princess! I wonder if it still fits me or if anyone will invite me somewhere I can wear it again.

Dress: Handmade (Burda Pattern no. 7175) Shoes: Newlook
Fourth Year (age 15) Still feeling slightly controversial about this dress. It is very pretty but I had a slight tantrum about the colour (mum bought the material without asking me), I was super stressed in these photos because I was over an hour late and the dance its self was awful (tears over boys on what should be an amazing night is pointless!). I wish I could re wear this one too and forget the awful memories the last time I has it on.

Dress: Handmade (McCalls Pattern no. 6466) Shoes: Dorothy Perkins
Fifth Year (age 16) My favourite dance dress. You might find it familiar because I wore it to my cousins wedding a few months ago. I have really good memories from this dance and lovely photos. I also got new shoes for this dance too! Finally.

Dress: Handmade (McCalls Pattern no. 6646)  Shoes: Dorothy Perkins
Sixth Year (age 17) I really love the colour of this dress but I don't thin anyone else loved it as much as me. It has a lovely shape and quite a vintage feeling. I just think I look so me in this dress and my hair and make up is pretty natural.

I have come up with a tag How Do You Decorate Your Christmas Tree Tag and would love to get some of you involved. I aim to have mine up on saturday but if you would like the questions leave your email in the comments.

What do you think of my dress? Which is your favourite I would love to know!
