The Best Cookie Recipe

Friday, September 18

I wish I could take credit for this cookie recipe but it is from Tanya Burr's blog. After seeing her and Zoe make them in several vlogs I decided to give them ago and they didn't disappoint. The real trick is to long bake them for 10 minutes - they won't be properly cooked but once they are removed they continue to bake in their own heat for about half an hour. They stay perfectly gooey in the middle for days too - if they last that long.

You will need:
200g butter
300g caster sugar
1 large egg
275g self-raising flour
75g coco powder
a little dash of milk
a large bar of milk, white, dark chocolate

Firstly you should cream together the butter and sugar then add the beaten egg. Add the flour and coco powder then add a dash of milk if your mixture is looking dry. Next mixing in the chocolate is easiest done with your hands.

Bring together to a dough and line 2 trays with baking paper the cookies will spread in the oven so don't place them close together. Pick up a small handfuls of cookie dough and place them onto your trays.

Pop them into the oven for 10 minutes at 200° and leave to cool for about 30 minutes.

I've just finished my first week of second year and I'm craving some cookies now. I will have to make the effort to bake some this weekend. Hope everyone else is having a good week too.
