My week in pictures #196

Monday, November 14

(From top left) Lots of lovely cards for passing my driving test on Monday morning. A burger to celebrate in The Bobbin on Monday evening. My new cardigan and satchel arrived from Zaful* and I can't wait to style them. Lots of time spent in the library this week looking at Well Logs. I finished Fangirl and LOVED it! Out for a fancy deal at Malmaison on Saturday night with Scott.
This week has been busy, busy, busy - a theme I'm now realising will continue for the rest of third year. Monday was an important day though because I finally passed my driving test! I'm not going to go into it anymore because I talked about it in Tuesday's blog post but I was on cloud nine for the rest of the week. I persuaded my flatmate to go for a quick burger and beer after class because I felt like I needed a reward.

The rest of the week was early starts in the library working on coursework. To make up for last week I did make it to the gym on Tuesday and zumba on Friday. I even managed to treat myself to an extra hour in bed on Friday morning. That evening we went to my flatmates aunties for dinner, she cooked a really tasty chicken dish and then we watched the football.

Saturday was another early start but this time I was off swimming - one of the few sports I actually enjoy. Once I got home I was able to finish Fangirl before cleaning all the floors in time for the rugby to start. It was a tense game and Scotland were robbed... Scott arrived half way through and once it was finished we went to the shop to get breakfast food.

For Christmas his parents bought us a voucher for Malmaison. We were waiting for a good time to use it - just after passing my driving test and to cheer us up with the dark night we decided now would be a good time to use it. The restaurant was so fancy, a really good bottle of wine and the food we had was delicious. I had calamari and shrimp to start, tuna steak for main and a chocolate fondant for dessert. I love any excuse to get dressed up and go out for the night so we both had the best time.

Sunday was a little different because my parents were bringing my grandma up for the day. She hasn't been to Aberdeen before so I was able to show her the university campus and catch the remembrance day parade. We then went to Zizzi for a late lunch and a little shopping afterwards. The calzone I had in Zizzi's was great but I was so full. Scott and I got back to the flat very sleepy, I finished off my uni work, we had snack tea and watched The Apprentice. The whole day tired us out so we were asleep by 10pm.
