Afternoon Tea at Cup Aberdeen

Wednesday, February 21

There is nothing like a mid-week treat and because my flatmate had vouchers for Cup on Belmont Street we headed down last Tuesday to try it out. After a short debated we opted for the Luxury Afternoon Tea (because we felt like we needed something more than just cakes) and a pot of breakfast tea each.

The tea arrived quickly and the cakes on a cute stand were soon to follow. The waitress was very accommodating and make sure there was sandwiches my flatmate would enjoy (I'll eat anything). The scones were huge and the cakes looked delicious.

The sandwiches were good but nothing outstanding but maybe because that was because we couldn't wait to get started on the cakes. The scones were delicious but maybe we could have done with more jam and cream considering the size of them. I couldn't fault the cakes though - they were really yummy! I had to take some home with me because I was so full by the end.

Overall I would say Cup is a lovely place for afternoon tea or just meeting a friend for coffee. The place was relaxed with a light, bright interior and quirky decorations. You must check out their Alice and Wonderland themed toilets before leaving. Now I'm wondering when I can go back to sample the Chocolate afternoon tea.
