5 Things That Made Me Happy This Week #36

Monday, October 17

After I did really well with blog content in August, September wasn't bad but now we are over half way through October and this is the first post I have time to sit down and write.

I do have another one with the photos edited and uploaded but I'll have that for later in the week. In my defence things have been really crazy around the house and you'll soon hear why.

1. Finally Getting An Ikea Pax Wardrobe

I mentioned it in my 'A Bedroom Renovation Mood Board' post but we've waited for the Ikea PAX wardrobes to come back in stock for a whole year so when they finally did we purchased straight away. It wasn't ideal timings with the new kitchen but I'm really happy we've got the storage space and the bedroom is starting to feel finished.

2. Sunset Walks on the Beach

Last week I was on the beach just as it was setting and the colours in the sky were so subtle and gorgeous. Having a dog that forces you out every day really is a blessing even if it doesn't feel like it at the time. A walk can really help you clear your head after work.

3. A Bargain New Onesie

I arrived home late one night last week from work to find the pre-loved onesie I bought on Vinted arrived. Getting all cosy in front of the fire with a beer really cheered me up after a long day and this onesie is so cute. It makes me happy every time I wear it.

4. Counting Down to the New Kitchen

Work on the new kitchen has been fairly steady since a month ago we removed the old one, last Monday the plastering was finished which meant the new kitchen could be delivered and we could paint before the joiner started. Our aim was to finish everything yesterday which we did with long days over the weekend but it feels so close now.

5. Taking a 'Mental Health Day' Off Work

As I write this I'm enjoying a delightful day off work - I couldn’t face working all weekend painting in the house then going straight back into it without a break. Thankfully I have lots of days still to take before the end of the year so I'm enjoying a slower start to the week and catching up on some jobs that need doing around the house.
