5 Things That Made Me Happy This Week #48

Tuesday, February 20

It's been a minute since I last sat down to write a blog post. I'd love to blame being busy but honestly I've just not felt inspired to come up with new content recently. Maybe it's the dark nights or nothing exciting happening in life but hopefully as the days get longer I will have more ideas for new blog posts.

Anyway, life has been busy recently so I'd like to take a few minutes to appreciate the things that have made me happy recently.

1. Baking for a Bake Sale

The amateur operatics society I joined last year had a coffee morning and I made a few things for the cake and candy stall. The rocky road, chocolate cookies and red velvet cupcakes all went down really well and it was a fun morning raising money.

2. Booking the Toy Story Hotel at Tokyo Disneyland

The nights we plan to spend at Tokyo Disneyland finally became available to book and after much thought we went for the Toy Story Hotel. The theming of the hotel looks amazing, like stepping into the films, so it will hopefully make our Disney trip even more magical.

3. Delicious Sourdough Bread

I'd hate to jinx it but the last two sourdough loaves I've made have been amazing. I've been practicing a new shaping technique and using the proofing basket I bought in Ikea and it seems to be making a difference. I'm loving baking bread again!

4. Exciting News and a New Taylor and Lucas Sweatshirt

I can't believe I woke up to the news of a new Taylor Swift album one dull Monday morning in February... and the notification that my new Taylor and Lucas sweatshirt had been dispatched. After a lot of thought over all the 1989 designs I went for the one the one inspired by the album cover - it is my era after all.

5. Early Spring Greenhouse Clear Out

Like every gardener I'm desperate to get back into the garden and while the weather was mild on Sunday I decided to give the greenhouse it's pre-spring clear out. I'm planning to build new staging with my dad so it was the perfect time and hopefully it will be full of seedlings soon.
