A Postcard From Aviemore

Tuesday, April 15

For the past eleven years we have been going to the same apartment at the Dalfaber golf and country club in Aviemore but before that we visited every year and stayed in different houses. This year my brother and I went with my aunty and uncle (who own it) and shared it for most of the week with my big cousins and my two little (2nd) cousins. Carrie (5) and Finlay (3) always make the holiday much more entertaining.

This is the front of our patio apartment as we were packing up on Friday- the interior isn't anything special so I didn't take any pictures of it. When the sun is shinning it is great to sit in the glass room at the front and enjoy the views of the cairngorm mountains and look over to the skiing.

We always bike to boat of garten on the back road from Aviemore past the steam railway. It is a beautiful cycle through the trees and then the more exposed heather. This year though my cousin was having trouble with his bike and we had to leave him behind which made it more tricky than normal.

Another thing we have to do every year is walk round Loch an Eilein. Most of the photos in the post were taken round there so you can see how beautifully scottish it is. This year we biked the 2/3 miles there instead of taking the car which was fun. We made every slow process walking round with the two kids but it was still enjoyable.

The final thing we fit in every year is going to the Cairngorm Hotel for dinner on our last night. The food there is always perfect and so filling. As normal I opted for the mince and tattoos purely because I enjoy the yorkshire pudding and you can see how HUGE my plateful was here and here. We had a great night and its always a tradition to finish our holiday.

I think over my life time I've done just about everything Aviemore has to offer, we've been skiing, to the highland wildlife park, canoeing on loch inch, and visiting the landmark centre but if there is anything you would recommend I would love to know.

I'm selling some things on ebay here. Please have a look because they all start at 99p (I was feeling brave). Ending on Friday evening.
