5 Things That Made Me Happy This Week #15

Tuesday, January 28

Work this week has been so full I can't believe it's only Tuesday... I was knackered last night so I was in bed early watching The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina on Netflix and it was bliss. There have been lots of other great things happened in the past week too.

1. Monday Night Dinner with my Colleagues

Last Monday I was surprised by a last minute invitation to go out to a local Indian restaurant for tea. My bosses boss was visiting and it was such a treat. It's nice to get to know people in a social setting, the food was great and I even enjoyed a cheeky glass of wine on a school night.

2. Strictly Come Dancing Live!

The most exciting thing to happen recently was winning tickets to see Strictly live and sit in the company box. I obviously took along my Mum because we've been watching it for years. It was so good it brought a tear to my eye when I heard that iconic music start.

3. Professional Development Summary

Circling back to work, it does take up 95% of my time, but we finally got round to doing my PD summary last week. I was pretty nervous about it because I don't love talking about my goals for the future. However, it went great and I got a glowing report from my boss.

4. Homemade Vegetable Soup

On Sunday all the crap I'd eaten over the weekend was starting to catch up on me - I felt terrible! So I dug out a recipe I'd seen on Instagram and made a huge pot of soup with onions, leaks, fennel, carrot, kale, barley and butter beans. It was delicious and made me feel so much better.

5. The Nights Drawing Out

It's ever so slight at the moment but looking out my window at work I do notice it isn't getting dark so early. I'd even go as far to say that it isn't pitch black when I walk home either. Spring is along way off yet but at least it feels like we've passed the deepest, darkest part of winter!
