5 Things That Made Me Happy This Week #37

Tuesday, November 8

It turns out no matter how much you try to prepare and plan getting your kitchen renovated really does take over your life. After removing the old one it was 45 days before we had working appliances in our new one… but more on that in a different post. Today I wanted to talk about some of the things that have made me happy recently.

1. Seeing Our New Kitchen Come Together

Like I said getting the kitchen renovated has been a process – it wasn’t just replacing the kitchen we needed walls framed and boarded, a plasterer in and everything rewired. It’s all starting to come together and it is looking amazing. I can’t wait to share!

2. Making Bees Wax Wraps for Market

I started making Bees Wax wraps years ago but as with a lot of craft projects it was abandoned. However, my dad was due to sell honey at a local market so I thought it would give me the push. I even designed proper packaging on my Cricut. I only sold 1 set but at least I now have some stock for future markets.

3. Hocus Pocus

I know I’m late to the party here but I decided this will be the year I finally watch Hocus Pocus so on Halloween I had a cosy movie night. I loved it! I was worried I wouldn’t have the nostalgia as an adult or it was over hyped bit it wasn’t.

4. My First Upcycling Project

Influenced by Reels on Instagram I bought a sideboard for £20 in the hope that I could upcycling it for our dining room. I’m really happy with the transformation so far – it just needs a few finishing touches and I’ll share some pictures.

5. Charity Shop and Vinted Bargains

Moving into the new season has got me looking for a few pre-loved bits to add to my wardrobe. I picked up a cosy, oversized mustard cardigan on Vinted and an awesome tulle skirt perfect for Christmas parties in the charity shop. I can’t wait to share them.
