5 Things That Made Me Happy This Week #49

Sunday, April 14

As the weekend comes to an end I'm sitting beside the fire feeling like I've managed to fit lots into my weekend but at the same time wishing there was another day. Life has been busy recently in a way that has been really good but has also stopped me finding the time to blog. However, this afternoon I've made time and I want to share some of the things that have made me happy recently.

1. Lessons in Chemistry on Audiobook

I used to be a big fan of audiobooks but since I discovered podcasts listening to far few of them. However, I needed a solution for helping me sleep during the late nights of show week and Lessons in Chemistry was the perfect choice. Not only is it a great book but I also loved being read to each night while I felt sleepy instead of scrolling on my phone.

2. Anniversary Date Night

At the end of March my boyfriend and I celebrated 10 years together so I planned a little date night in Aberdeen. A romantic dinner at Rusticos then a lovely stay at the Hilton TECA. It was a simple little get away but so relaxing and just what we needed.

3. Holiday Countdown and Planning

It's just over a month until we go to Japan - all our hotels are booked and universal tickets bought so the excitement is building. My instagram explore page is full of travel reels and I'm trying to soak in all the recommendations to make the most of our holiday.

4. New Space for Plants in the Garden

My boyfriend has been working on a project in the garden to create a new seating area in a sunny part of the garden and as a result I have two nice new borders for planting up with flowers. The space was a little difficult and overgrown before but now I can see it's potential and it's exciting.

5. Rhubarb Season and a Rhubarb and Custard Tart

Rhubarb is such a delightful plant to grow - as spring begins to show it's face it sprouts up giving you the most delicious ingredient for some baking. While it was raining on Saturday I decided to make Alice's rhubarb and custard tart. A perfect little treat!
